William J Loughman
With over 25 years of operations and financial experience in the telecommunications industry he previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Mio Groups Dutch Caribbean operations and joined Mio Group in 2008 as the Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Mio Group he was a CEO at a public company that provided media and content to various wireless carriers.
William was previously the Chief Financial Officer at AirGate PCS, a Sprint Affiliate, and o2wireless Solutions where he held various positions including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. He has also held various financial and operations positions with AT&T Wireless, Motorola, Verizon and Cellular One. His background includes a Member of the Board of Directors of Telecom Operators in Aruba, BVI, Jordan, Lithuania, Pakistan and Russia.
David Dockter
Broad international experience covering more than 25 years and twenty countries in the field of telecommunications marketing (Business Development, Start-Up, Operations). Lead marketing advisor on numerous planned and executed acquisitions where responsibilities included development of business case, investor relations and partner management. Track record as strong Trouble Shooter and Team Leader in several challenging environments. Experience working for and with major operators and investors including US WEST, Motorola, Orange, GE Capital, Bank of America, Caisse de dépôt and others.
David’s achievements include being lead investor advisor on several multi-billion dollar acquisitions, leading negotiations for the sale of HAF Limited to o2wireless Solutions and successful marketing work for some of the fastest growing GSM operators in the world.
Jon Short
Jon has broad experience in the telecommunications and broadcasting industries spanning more than 20 years. Jon’s background is in engineering, holding a B.Eng and being a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the IET. Jon has worked on over 30 separate projects in over 25 countries and was one of the architects of the GSM technology through his work with ETSI.
Many of the countries Jon has worked in have been challenging environments in developing countries in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia. Jon has a track record of consistent delivery and success across these different cultures and environments. Jon has worked on more than 25 licence and business acquisitions and been the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) in several wireless telecoms operating companies.
Recently Jon was in charge of the deployment of 3G in Sweden. Jon has had experience working with major operators and vendors such as British Telecom, o2, Orange, McCaw Cellular, Ericsson, Motorola, Qualcomm and Three.
Dino Onofrio
Dino has over 30 years of experience in the communications industry, spanning a diverse range of functional disciplines including Finance, Information Technology, Project Management and Customer Care. Dino is experienced in leading large established organisations and in building and growing startup enterprises.
Prior to joining HAF, Dino held senior financial positions with MediaOne in the United States and Europe, in the Polish wireless startup business Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa, which operates under the brand ERA GSM, in the Belgian startup broadband service provider, Telenet Holdings N.V. and in the German cable operator, Kabel Nordrhein-Westfalen.
Samuel Zayat
Samuël Zayat is an investment banker with 16 years of transactional experience in Europe and emerging markets. Before joining HAF Partners this year, he acted as a Managing Director of Linkstone Capital in 2009-2010. He was a Director within the HSBC Global Banking and Markets division between 2004 and 2009, based in Paris. Prior to that, he had been working for eight years in the investment banking division of the Rothschild group, initially in London and later in Paris. Over these years at Rothschild, HSBC, Linkstone Capital and now with HAF Partners, Mr Zayat has accumulated significant experience of government advice and telecom privatisations in emerging markets. Mr Zayat started his professional career (1993 to 1996) as a management consultant with Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), where he has advised telecoms groups on operational and marketing issues of strategic importance.
